Studio Dwell rendering of 728 - 730 North Ada in West Town, Chicago Construction photo of 728 - 730 North Ada in West Town, Chicago

I was surprised to find that ground recently broke at 728 – 730 N Ada St in West Town, considering the number of new condos that have flooded that neighborhood in recent months, including ChicagoView II, 1400 – 1408 West Grand, 1425 West Grand, and 742 West Ada. Maybe developers around there know something that I don’t.

It might seem strange to show as many people milling around on a small street like Ada as this rendering does, but in this case I think those silhouettes are probably pretty accurate. The place is being built right across the street from a large high school, so I’d expect to see plenty of kids hanging around.

I don’t have too much information about this Studio Dwell-designed development except for the five MLS listings corresponding to its addresses.

According to the MLS, one 1,034 square-foot two-bedroom / one-bath is priced in the $280s, two 1,034 square-foot two-bedroom / two-baths are priced in the $290s and $300s, and two 2,400 square-foot three-bedroom / two-baths are priced in the $580s and the $590s.

  • Studio Dwell has a number of outstanding projects all over West Town, particularly Wicker Park. These project are very unique and one of a kind. If you are in the market these days, I highly recommend one of these units because you will have a unit to be proud of and be able to express the way you live.

  • Finally, red brick condo buildings that will actually look good with a nice, clean design. A nice addition to Ada.

  • I agree with Fred. Studio Dwell Architects has some hot projects…very modern and sophisticated.

  • These are very cool buildings but pricey. U get what you pay for….

  • NOTE – Stud2008, Mike Firilo and Fred Spence all posted from the same IP address.

Best guess: one person, three aliases.

  • Outstanding project. Great appeal. Just ask any of my three personalities.

Oh well back to the news………
