Another look at Hyde Park

Click to enlargeDuring our recent trip to Hyde Park to check out new starter homes, we stumbled upon a couple of condominium projects targeted at slightly bigger spenders.

The first, The Kimbark at 5131 S Kimbark Ave, stands right across the street from the recently rehabbed Manor on Kimbark condominiums. Each of the building’s four units has four bedrooms and four baths and features hardwood floors, a marble fireplace, Sub-Zero appliances and garage parking.

We haven’t had much luck getting additional information from Urban Search‘s brokers, but the building’s previous agent still has pictures of the Kimbark interiors up on her site if you want a better look at its interior. Prices range from the $640s to the $750s, and at least three of the building’s four units are still on the market, if Urban Search’s site is to be trusted.

Right around the corner from The Kimbark is The Seasons at Madison Park, an eight-home condominium building at 1215 E Madison Park. (The south side of the building faces Hyde Park Boulevard, which is how we noticed it.)

Little has changed at The Seasons since the last time we wrote about it, says agent Larry Bloom of Sudler Sotheby’s International Realty. Two (not three) of the building’s eight gut-rehabs have sold; the remaining six range in price from the $290s to the $580s.

Features include nine-foot ceilings, hardwood floors, Kohler bathtubs and Duravit Starck 3 toilets. And since the condos were rehabbed to landmark district standards, property taxes will be frozen at 2007 levels for eight years.
