Are condo boards prepared for their responsibilities?

In this video, home inspector Tom Corbett outlines some of the pitfalls that new condo boards encounter.

One typical scenario, he says, involves inexperienced condo boards taking control of a project that’s still unfinished.

“That puts the developer in the place of walking away from his or her finished product – that is incomplete – and then blaming the unit owners and the board for abusing the property and the equipment, instead of completing the work themselves. And that sets up a lawsuit, which the developers anticipate.”
