The Fountains of Arlington luxury condo development is a stately vision as you drive down Rand Road in the northwest suburb – a pair of buildings with architectural detailing, arched windows and relief from your ordinary apartment complex facade.
A community of more than 100 units, this newer development is close to transit, schools and shopping. Condos includes amenities such as radiant flooring, in-unit washer and dryer, Spancrete floors and ceilings that maintain temperature and muffle noise and a heated underground parking space. And the units start in the lower $200s.

“is close to transit”
How do they arrive at this claim? The only good public transit service in Arlington Heights is the Metra, and this is far beyond walking distance of the Metra stations.
It’s on a road or street, right? Ergo, close to transit, i.e. private cars. Sorry, couldn’t resist…
A few minutes walk to the Pace bus Route 690, which gets you to the Metra station.
Route 690 hasn’t existed for five years. The nearest bus routes are more than a half hour walk away and run hourly. Calling this “close to transit” is extremely disingenuous.
Ben L,
I was misled by an old PDF that still exists on the web. You’re correct that the 690 route was eliminated 5 years ago.
There actually are condos in Arlington Heights that are close to transit, and are only a short walk to the Metra station. But this is not one of them.
