Attorney General Lisa Madigan has filed lawsuits against a number of companies and individuals involved in fraudulent loan modification and mortgage rescue schemes.
Nearly five years ago I called attention to the checkered past and annoying present of Joe Aldeguer. He was one of the defendants named in the lawsuits filed by the Attorney General.
Make no mistake. This isn’t the last you’ll hear of Aldeguer. Like others of his ilk, he’s likely to move on to the next scam, confident that the legal system doesn’t cope very well with serial sleazes.
One bright line rule to follow to avoid these types of schemes: don’t contact anyone in the lending business, other than an established bank, who advertises on the radio. Radio stations long ago abandoned the standards they once had for accepting advertising.
