We received an e-blast yesterday announcing the start of a new program at 600 Lake Shore Drive in which two-bedroom homeowners can sell their homes back to the developer and purchase three-bedroom condos.
“The program originated due to a number of two-bedroom buyers mentioning how much they enjoy living in the building and their only regret was not buying a larger unit,” writes Liz Brooks, Belgravia Group‘s director of sales.
Just two buyers have taken advantage of the offer so far, according to Belgravia marketing director Carmen Krushas, but about two-thirds of the two-bedroom homeowners at the development have expressed interest.
“[M]any of these homeowners originally purchased the home as an in-town and now find themselves using the home more often than anticipated, with more need for extra guest rooms,” Krushas writes.
According to Belgravia’s release, 300 homes have closed in the 400-unit, twin-tower development at 600 N Lake Shore Dr in Streeterville. Options are limited in the north tower, as 98 percent of the homes in that building have been sold, leaving just a handful of available one- and two-bedrooms.
About 75 percent of the homes in the south tower have been sold and several floor plans are no longer available. The remaining one- to three-bedroom condos in that tower are priced from the $410s to $1.77 million.
