Long-time YoChicago readers may remember Eric Borys as “The Bench,” our Irving Park correspondent. For about six years, Eric has lived in an apartment on Irving Park Road, across the street from Independence Park. On Friday morning we met at the corner of Irving Park Road and Elston Avenue to talk about the Irving Park enclave known as West Walker.
In the first half of this video, Eric points out some of the convenient shops and restaurants found near the Irving Park / Elston intersection; in the second half, we move down to Independence Park and discuss the area’s transportation options, and Eric’s reasons for moving to the neighborhood from Lake View.
