The block along Spruce Street east of Glendale is only one of many handsome blocks in Winnetka, says Joe Zekas. It has a special place in the memory of a woman he knows who left it as a young girl but still thinks of it as home. Judging from the YouTube comments and messages we’ve received over the years, she’s not alone in carrying fond memories of a North Shore home with her throughout her life.
