Bridgeport Station Lofts 80% sold

After gaining a foothold in Bridgeport with its Union Lofts project – the first loft condos to be built in the Near Southwest neighborhood – Tandem Developers, LLC is seeing success with another unique Bridgeport development, Bridgeport Station Lofts.

The 66-unit condo building, which is all new construction despite the name, is underway next door to Union Lofts, at 35th and Morgan. Condominiums have been comparatively rare in Bridgeport, a neighborhood dominated by solid single-family homes and until lately, new construction of any kind was uncommon.

Today, however, Bridgeport is undergoing something of a renaissance, and along with projects like Union Lofts and the nearby Bridgeport Village, Bridgeport Station Lofts is offering longtime neighborhood residents a new alternative and bringing fresh faces to the community.

“We have some first-time buyers, who were living with their parents or renting in the neighborhood and they just love the community and don’t want to leave. They’re true to their roots,” said Paul Dincin, a co-developer with Paul Marks in Tandem Developers, www.TandemDevelopers.com. “Others are attracted to the great space and views of the skyline.”

At press time, nearly 80 percent of the units at Bridgeport Station had been sold. They have one or two bedrooms and preconstruction prices ranging from the $190s to the $280s. Units have private balconies or terraces, ceramic baths, GE appliances, red oak floors, spiral ductwork, ceiling heights of 10 feet and many skyline views.

Designed by architects FitzGerald & Associates, the four-story building features a brick and limestone façade and a lobby with a closed-circuit TV security system. Sixty-three indoor parking spaces are priced at $22,000 each, while a limited number of outdoor spaces are being offered at $15,000 each.
