Burling and Orchard and Howe, oh my!

You’ll find seventeen of Lincoln Park’s 50 top property taxpayers in the extra-long 1800 / 1900 blocks of three streets — Burling, Orchard, and Howe — including Elzie Higginbottom’s 8,492 square-foot home at 1927 N Burling St, which was taxed a neighborhood high $76,405.55 in 2008.

A full 235 homes on these blocks and the neighboring streets in the Lincoln Central area (bounded by Lincoln and North avenues, Halsted Street, and the phantom path of the old Ogden Avenue) were taxed at least $30,000 that year, according to Blockshopper.

Joe and I have talked often about scheduling a BlockWalk down one or more of these streets with a luxury homes expert to get a closer look at some of these lavish single-families. North Burling Street
