Buy a condo, win a car

Developers have long known that throwing in a little something extra can tip buyers shopping for a new home off of the fence and into the sales center. At the Edge Lofts and Tower, that little something is hot and red and convertible, and while it is little compared to others of its kind, there’s nothing small about its $25,000 value.

Conversion Marketing and Management, Inc., developer of the Edge, will raffle off a 2005 Mini-Cooper convertible among the last 25 buyers at the project once sales are complete. The red two-door car, which features a black interior, an automatic transmission, a CD player and heated seats, is currently on display at the building’s sales center, at 210 S. Desplaines.

“Buying a home and a car are two of life’s biggest acquisitions,” said Neil Stenholt, president of Conversion Marketing and Management. “To be given one with the purchase of the other is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.”

The development includes a new 16-story condo tower that rises out of a five-story loft conversion. The remaining units range from studios to two bedrooms, priced from the $210s to the $410s. Features include granite counters, Whirlpool appliances, Moen faucets, marble master baths and oak floors in living areas.
