Calatrava shows off early Chicago Spire sketches, talks turkey on design

In this video, Architect Santiago Calatrava shows off some of the color sketches that led him to the Chicago Spire design. While he talks about the importance of combining design and engineeering, one of the more interesting revelations is the kinship he seems to feel with filmmakers such as Fellini and Kurosawa, as well as with artists ranging from Picasso to Calder, in terms of creative process and desired effect.
