Checking in: Another cut for LSD landmark

1258 N Lake Shore Dr, ChicagoSpeaking of luxury homes, you might remember a “shark bite” from last spring regarding a landmark Holabird & Roche mansion at 1258 N Lake Shore Dr that had dropped from its 2008 list price of $5.8 million to $4.4 million. It held tight at that price until February 28, when it finally went off the market for some reconsideration. Today it returned with a new agent — Marie Campbell of Koenig & Strey — and a new price of $3.95 million.

The 5,162 square-foot, four-bedroom / 5.5-bath mansion dates back to 1895, and along with six other Lake Shore Drive mansions was named a Chicago landmark in 1989. 2009 taxes on the home were $20,658 with a homeowner exemption.

Blockshopper says the home last changed hands in a bank sale in 1996.
