When Dave Spaulding, the manager of Chiasso’s new Wilmette store reached out to invite me in for a look I had to ask him where Chiasso was located.
As it turns out, I pass Chiasso twice a day and stop at the Chase branch 100 feet away from it about once a week. Chiasso’s location, at 108 Skokie Blvd, is easy to miss but well worth a visit.
Once inside I experienced a bit of deja vu – Chiasso’s visionary owner is the son of Gordon and Carole Segal, the legendary founders of Crate & Barrel, and you’ll see some resonance to Crate & Barrel.
Chiasso, however, goes well beyond Chris Segal’s family heritage in the array and style of furnishings and household items it packs into the Wilmette showroom.
