MCL Companies is once again offering free upgrades at Metro Place, a community of 78 condos and eight single-family homes under construction in Lawndale – $5,000 for condo buyers and $10,000 for single-family home buyers. The deal is good through Dec 31.
Last we checked, prices at Metro Place started in the $270s for condos and the $620s for single-families.

And MCL has a long track record of succeeding in pioneering locations. You might not have been around when MCL built the Embassy Club and people were saying it was crazy to pay the prices in the then-rough West DePaul neighborhood. You probably weren’t around when MCL built expensive single family homes in Dearborn Park / South Loop and people thought that was crazy.
Guess what? Dan McLean’s been around and has a pretty solid grasp of what he’s doing.

Kudos to you Joe. It takes a certain type of developer to start the trend and from what i’ve seen MCL has yet to falter….I do think it’ll be funny in about 5,10 or 15years when people like pete would say things like ” i remember how lawndale/englewoodused to be”…funny, I used to say “I remember how the south loop used to be”…My bro bought a condo in the southloop in early 2000 for $200K….equity is mofo 🙂
