Chicago deal of the day: up to $35K in free upgrades at Huron Street Lofts

Huron Street Lofts

Back in December, we reported that seven units at Huron Street Lofts in River North sold at auction after developers put the last 17 units on the block. Yesterday the developers sent out a press release saying that 11 units remain on the market, priced from $235,000 to $288,000 and ranging in size from 813 to 975 square feet. Some of these are light-filled corner units with exposed brick, according to John Mullen, principal in Huron Street Associates, an LLC formed by RSC & Associates, Morgan Group and The Lord Companies. All of the building’s 100 units have one bedroom and one bath.

As part of a developer closeout, five of the remaining units are being sold with $30,000 to $35,000 in free upgrades, including hardwood floors by Great Northern, 42-inch oak or maple cabinets by AyA, Kohler faucets, granite or Corian counters and a Frigidaire stainless steel appliance package.

The other six are being sold “as is.” We’re not sure what that means, exactly, but since the building is a former warehouse converted into rental lofts in the mid-1980s, presumably those finishes date back a ways.
