When Lockhart Steele told me he was moving forward with his twice-postponed Curbed Chicago launch I suggested he lock on to Mark Boyer, a former YoChicagoan for his new editor.

Mark quickly established Curbed’s Chicago site as a must-read and a must-see, bringing a high level of intelligence, creativity, and verbal and visual flair to a challenging assignment. He managed to keep the site consistently bright and fresh throughout his tenure.

Mark is moving on, and Curbed is looking for a new Chicago editor.

Chicago will miss Mark, and any new editor will need to steel himself against the inevitable comparisons.
