Don’t worry, Old Joe isn’t going anywhere…
This afternoon marks the end of my 3.5-year tenure as a writer, editor, and wholly shameless shill at YoChicago, and next week marks the end of my four-year layover in the Chicagoland area.
I leave here with a far greater appreciation of Chicago’s history, its people, and its neighborhoods than I had when I arrived in late 2007, and it’s been a pleasure sharing the city with you through words, photos, and videos.
It’s even been fun working with Joe Zekas (seriously!), and I trust he’ll continue to inform, aggravate, and / or entertain you with his news and views on Chicago homes and neighborhoods well into the future.
Thanks for the calls, emails, and comments, and thanks for reading (and watching, too).
We’ll miss you, Joe. Leave with your head held high. And best of luck in your future endeavors.

As the President of the Joe Askins Fan Club, I must admit one would expect an Oprah-like departure from Chicago’s media landscape. Nevertheless Joe, you have been a great help to my marketing and good friend in the business.
