Don’t worry, Old Joe isn’t going anywhere…

This afternoon marks the end of my 3.5-year tenure as a writer, editor, and wholly shameless shill at YoChicago, and next week marks the end of my four-year layover in the Chicagoland area.

I leave here with a far greater appreciation of Chicago’s history, its people, and its neighborhoods than I had when I arrived in late 2007, and it’s been a pleasure sharing the city with you through words, photos, and videos.

It’s even been fun working with Joe Zekas (seriously!), and I trust he’ll continue to inform, aggravate, and / or entertain you with his news and views on Chicago homes and neighborhoods well into the future.

Thanks for the calls, emails, and comments, and thanks for reading (and watching, too).

  • As the President of the Joe Askins Fan Club, I must admit one would expect an Oprah-like departure from Chicago’s media landscape. Nevertheless Joe, you have been a great help to my marketing and good friend in the business.

Thanks for the enjoyable and classy writing too. There’s always Facebook.
