Chicago ranks 20th for high-income educated young women

When I was in high school, a reminder that “the light at the end of the tunnel is Jersey City” was richly ironic.

Now that light, according to a recent Redfin analysis of census data, is a beacon drawing young, successful, educated women to Jersey City.

Jersey City ranks 11th among the 25 cities with the highest percentage of college-educated, high-income, young single women. Oakland, a/k/a Detroit-by-the-Bay, took 10th place.

Chicago came in 20th on the list.
