Chicago rent barometer: Printer's Row for around $1,200

Today Yo infiltrates Printer’s Row, a sub-neighborhood of the South Loop, to see what rentals are available. At the Regal, located at 651 S Wells St, Unit 606, a 644-square-foot one-bedroom, is $1,200.

Also at the Regal, Unit 706, an identical 644-square-foot one-bedroom rents for $1,210. We can’t imagine the view is much better, but inches count in Chicago, and apparently the value of being one floor higher is about $10.

On a slightly larger scale, this 780-square-foot one-bedroom at 525 S Dearborn is $1,225.
