Chicago wine auction moves north

The esteemed Hart Davis Hart Wine Co. is moving its auctions north. The Chicago based company, which sells rare wines, is changing the venue of its coveted wine auctions beginning with the first auction of 2007, on Feb, 3. From then on, instead of using the Chicago Athletic Association on South Michigan Avenue across from Millennium Park, Hart Davis Hart will hawk its wares at the award-winning restaurant Tru restaurant, 676 N. St. Clair St., in Streeterville.

It’s not just the room, either; attendees will be able to sample the award winning cuisine of Tru chefs Rick Tramonto and Gale Gand. The auction is open to the public and free of charge. Reservations for lunch at Tru during the auction should be made by calling Hart Davis Hart at 312-482-9996 or emailing Julie Dion, jdion@hdhwine.com. Cost for lunch is $75 — a good way to check out Tru without dropping $300 on dinner.
