Chicago’s Wrigley Mansion, living in an iconic landmark

The Theurer-Wrigley House, more commonly known as the Wrigley Mansion, at 2466 N Lakeview is currently for sale for $9.5 million, though not listed in the MLS. The home is a Chicago landmark and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Earlier today I had an opportunity to take a video tour of the home with one of the owner’s adult children, who has an intimate familiarity with the home’s history and details — and the experience of living in one of Chicago’s grandest homes and most attractive locations.

The home and its coach house span more than 16,000 square feet. It is, to quote an architect who was touring the home at the time I was there, “exquisite. One of the finest single-family homes in Chicago, untouched, with its original details. Priceless.”

This video, despite its length, shows less than half of the home and doesn’t include a visit to the coach house.

My tour was arranged by Koenig & Strey’s Mary Bennett, who has the listing.
