Circa 922 is an 11-story, 104 unit apartment building in the West Loop. The building is an expansion of 123 North Sangamon, an existing loft building immediately to the north. The development was completed in 2014 and has a total of 149 units and 130 parking spaces.

123 Sangamon Venture Partners LLC is the developer of Circa 922. Focus Construction is the general contractor, and Michael Cody of FitzGerald Associates is the architect.

The apartments

Circa 922 offers studio, 1-, 2- and 3-bedroom apartments.

Floor plans and near real-time rent and availability info can be accessed online.

One-bedroom and larger apartments have private balconies or patios, some with walk-out access to the pool deck.

Open-plan kitchens have stainless steel appliances, including gas ranges, and quartz counter tops.

All of the apartments have floor-to-ceiling windows, in-unit washer / dryers and plank flooring in living areas.

Views. Most of the surrounding development doesn’t rise above 4- or 5-stories in height, so upper-floor units at Circa 922 will enjoy good views of the Loop and near north skyline.

A view southeast from the pool deck opens into the Loop skyline.

Amenities, services, policies

Circa 922 has an unusually extensive amenities package for a building its size.

The whimsical sculpture in the elevator lobby is a subtle reminder of the West Loop’s industrial and warehousing past.

Most of Circa 922’s amenities are on the first floor and have floor-to-ceiling windows that visually enlarge them with views of the century-old brick buildings across the street.

The amenities at Circa 922 are shared with the 45 loft apartments at 123 N Sangamon. A ramp promenade descends from the height of the loft building to ground level at the new building and provides a sense of arrival.

Coffee service is available at a bar in the resident lounge.

The fitness room has both strength-training and cardio equipment.

There’s a media room with a large flat-screen TV and individual seating.

The business center is behind the wood screen.

There’s a bar area adjacent to the 4th-floor pool deck.

A rooftop sundeck serves up panoramic views.

Circa 922 has 130 heated garage parking spaces.

Circa 922 is smoke-free and pet-friendly and has an on-site dog area. Leasing and management staff are on-site.

There’s a new Target half a dozen blocks southwest of the building and a seasonal farmers market a half-dozen blocks northeast.

Dining, nightlife. The West Loop is an almost indescribably-rich dining and nightlife venue, and Circa 922 has great proximity to the best of it.
