City making moves on massive South Loop site

Greg Hinz at Crain’s Chicago Business is reporting that Mayor Emanuel is making preparatory moves to gain control of a large site in the South Loop once owned by “convicted power broker” Tony Rezko.

Hinz pegs the site at 63 acres, but a previous Crain’s report refers to it as 62 acres. The site had previously been zoned for 4,600 homes and 670,000 square feet of retail.

Read the details and scan the city’s Community Development Commission report at Chicago Business.
