Civil rights groups to speak against predatory lending

Representatives from five civil rights groups will appear at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. tomorrow morning to call for “an immediate moratorium on certain subprime home foreclosures,” according to a press release from the National Fair Housing Alliance. Predatory lending disproportionately targets minority and underserved communities, the groups argue. Speakers from the NAACP, the Leadership Conference on Civil Rights, the National Council of La Raza and the Center for Responsible Lending will attend along with the National Fair Housing Alliance.
