A vintage masonry building at 660 N Kingsbury St in River North will be gutted to make way for a new condo project, The Park Kingsbury Residences.
The building – at North Kingsbury and West Huron streets – was home to Ronsley Special Events, a design and production company that has relocated.
A sales center will open in the fall, according to Shelly Cellak, a publicist with Burgeon Agency, which is handling public relations for the project. Cataldo / Marovitz, LLC is the developer, and the project will be marketed by Rizzo Realty Group.
According to a post on the River North Residents Association’s Web site, the developer scrapped plans to build a new 26-story tower in place of the building – opting instead to gut the vintage structure. About 50 loft condos with balconies and deeded parking are planned, according to the Web site.
“We commend the developer for this thoughtful and responsible choice, which gives new life to a classic turn-of-the-century masonry building,” the site says.
