Sales for both towers at 600 North Lake Shore Drive have progressed steadily this winter, with sales in the north tower are nearing completion. Only 12 of the building’s 154 condos are still available, including one two-bedroom, one three-bedroom, and 10 one-bedrooms that start in the low $400s. About 70 percent of the condos in the adjacent south tower have been sold, but several of the two- and three-bedroom floorplans in that building are sold out.
This development, located at Lake Shore Drive and Ohio Street, has been in the works since 2006. Sales reps at Belgravia Group expect construction to wrap up in the beginning of 2009.
Earlier proposals called for a much taller tower that Streeterville residents contended would have cast a shadow over the Ohio Street Beach. So instead, Belgravia scaled back the original plans and settled for two smaller towers of 41 and 47 stories. Together, the buildings comprise about 400 condos.
