Terrazio gets upgrades and tops off

From the window of the Green Line elevated tracks last week I noticed that Terrazio, Sedgwick Properties‘ twin seven-story buildings at 1935 S Wabash Ave, have reached full height. I didn’t have my camera with me at the time, but this photo from the development Web site that was taken in July shows a topped-off south tower and a north tower that wasn’t far behind.

Here’s the July construction update from the Web site:

“The building is now topped off and the superstructure is substantially complete. Masonry parapet walls with stone details surround the exterior roof deck. The carpenter has wrapped up laying track and studs through the sixth floor. Fireproofing and deck topping are significantly complete through out the building. The pre-cast panels have been set on the building facade along Cullerton St. and Wabash Ave.”

The sales center is scheduled to move into the building in about a month, and first deliveries are slated for November. In the meantime, Jameson agent Mike Hulett says the entire building is undergoing upgrades in four key areas:

  • All condos will receive $30,000 in upgraded finishes.
  • The lobby will be redesigned for a more “upscale” feel.
  • The first floor of the building’s exterior will be upgraded from brick to stone (which can be seen in the above photo).
  • The rooftop lounge and outdoor dining area will be increased in size.

Additionally, Hulett says the next three two- or three-bedroom condos that are sold will be reduced in price by $25,000. One-bedrooms are currently priced from the $190s, two-bedrooms are priced from the $290s, and three-bedrooms start in the $420s.
