Construction to begin on second phase of Marquette Village in spring

In August, Joe reported that RDM Development was temporarily lowering the prices on the first phase of Marquette Village. Since then, a few more homes have sold, and the developer has decided to permanently lower the prices on three-bedroom / 2.5-bath single-family homes by as much as $45,000.

“We reduced the prices on a lot of the homes,” says Coldwell Banker agent Chelton Blackburn. “Originally, you had to pay extra for a lot of the things that we’re now giving as standard,” he says. Some of the recently-added upgrades include granite countertops, three plasma TV hookups and private garages, according to Blackburn.

Blackburn didn’t have exact figures for the price reductions when I spoke with him, but he said that one home that was originally priced in the $340s is now in the $290s, and others that were previously priced in the $270s are now in the $250s.

Just two of the first ten homes that were built have sold, according to Blackburn, and three more from future phases have sold as well. Blackburn says construction will begin on the next ten houses once the ground warms. When it’s completed, Marquette Village will feature 139 three-bedroom / 2.5-bath single-family homes.
