Construction on a condo conversion isn’t anywhere near as dramatic as construction on, say, a brand-new high-rise, but the little improvements often make a subtle yet significant difference to a block or a neighborhood.
Take Bernard Station, at 4718 N Bernard St in Albany Park. When we last stopped by, new windows had been installed, and workers were cutting trim. This ought to spruce up the view for people strolling past on their way to the Kimball Brown Line el stop or the stores and restaurants on nearby Lawrence Avenue.
Bernard Station has 26 one- and two-bedroom condos. Interior finishes include stainless steel appliances, maple cabinets, granite countertops, stone baths and hardwood floors. Each condo has a private balcony. The building has a new roof as well as new plumbing and electrical systems.
Mary Bowler of @properties has the condos priced starting in the $170s. According to the listing, deliveries are expected by late summer.
