While taking some photos in the West Loop yesterday, I dropped by CA23, the Brixton Group‘s new condo development at 23 N Aberdeen St, to see how construction is coming along.
If I were the Brixton Group, I think I might want to change the official address of the development over to Carpenter Street, considering the amount of truck traffic I encountered on Aberdeen. The Chicago Truck Leasing Company is located just across the street from CA23 on Aberdeen, and they also seem to use the adjacent lot on the east side of the street as well. As a result, the street hardly feels like the tranquil and picturesque scene portrayed in the rendering at right.
You can’t see the Sears Tower from that angle either, as the rendering seems to suggest.
Below is a short video I shot on site. Contrary to what I say in the video, the two buildings in CA23 with comprise 48 condos that are priced from the $650s to $1.6 million.
