Construction update: Halsted Row

Halsted Row

Halsted Row is transforming sizable stretch of Halsted Street in Lake View: when the project wraps up, five four-story buildings, housing a total of 44 condos and nine retail spaces, will span 2847 to 2905 N Halsted.

The development replaces a stretch of storefronts, including a bar called Orange Crush and ComedySportz theater (soon to relocate to 929 W Belmont Ave, above a planned Panera Bread).

The developers, Castlebar Enterprises, Inc. and Stillpoint Development, will own and manage the retail spaces, according to David Salyers, of Chicago Graystone Realty LLC, the brokerage arm of Castlebar Enterprises. “We’re not putting clubs or restaurants in the commercial spaces,” he says. “I would love to see the doors shut at 6 or 7 o’clock, and everybody goes home and comes back the next day.” GolfTEC is the first business to move into one of the ground floor retail spaces, at 2847 N Halsted.

The condos at Halsted Row have two or three bedrooms and two baths. Deliveries are immediate on the northernmost and southernmost buildings, according to Salyers. Four of the eight units in the southernmost building are sold, and eight of the nine units in the northernmost building are sold.

The building at 2901 N Halsted, now under construction, will deliver in January or February next year, Salyers said. No delivery dates are set yet for the remaining two buildings.

Prices at Halsted Row range from the $490s to the $740s, according to Salyers.
