Last week, I spoke with architect and developer Jack Berger about Mondial, his new 15-story high-rise that’s currently under construction at 900 W Huron St in River West.
“Every time I go through it, I giggle that I’ve been given this opportunity, especially given the state of the market,” Berger says. “I can see it from where I live – I look out the window and I see people looking at it and pointing,” he says, adding that in one instance a gaper came back and bought a unit a few days later.

As the photos indicate, construction is ongoing at 900 W Huron St, but the crews expect to top the building off by the beginning of September. Deliveries on Mondial’s 142 one- to four-bedroom condos are set to begin towards the end of 2008.
