Which facade has better texture — Sonotheque’s, 1444 W Chicago Ave, or Habana Libre’s, 1440 W Chicago Ave?

The answer to that one is easy.
They both look terrible. That fake stone cladding on the building to the right needs to be removed.
Yes, the cladding on Habana Libre should be replaced. Athough the general expression of the Habana facade is open and inviting whereas the Sonotheque’s says: “what the f*** are you looking at?”
I like Sonotheque’s… looks like a big gift bag of alcohol and music.
I don’t dislike the Sonothegue for being Modern–it’s just not done well. Hopefully it’s just a skin that can be removed in the future when it looks so terribly dated.
Cripes, neither…What was the inspiration Sonotheque’s, a condom wrapper? Another Lucien LaGrange design? 🙂
