No foolin’, on Saturday, April 1, chef Tony Mantuano, he of the James Beard Award for Best Chef in the Midwest last year, presents the first in a series of interactive cooking classes at his Mag Mile restaurant, Spiaggia (980 N Michigan Ave, 3rd Floor, 312-280-3300.), overlooking Oak Street Beach. The event is open to all ages, and runs from 11:20 a.m. to 2 p.m.
As a bonus, you get to eat a three-course meal–prepared by the chef and some lucky helpers from the crowd–and chase it with a splash of bubbly.
The menu is as follows: Guitar string pasta with lobster and zucchini; seared sliced tuna with Tuscan white beans and arugula; and assorted gelati, sorbetti and chocolates. The event costs $75 per person. A signed copy of The Spiaggia Cookbook is available for an additional $30.
Subsequent demonstrations include: Italian Grilling (June 24), Entertaining, Wine Bar-Style (August 19), Interactive Cooking for the Fall (October 21). You’ll be back.
