Curbed New York discovered ballot-stuffing in its Curbed Cup matchup between Park Slope and Roosevelt Island.
In Chicago, Uptown surpassed River North in the Curbed Cup’s first-round matchup.
Has there been a ballot-stuffing check? How much of Uptown’s vote came from Graceland Cemetery?

Joseph,
It’s a OUTRAGE.
Actually the census does show people living in Graceland Cemetery. Whether they have internet access I don’t know. The ‘dots’ show 650 people living in Graceland. I’d venture a guess the boundaries include the western end of Kenmore and possibly Clark St.
Otherwise, it’s a OUTRAGE!

I was surprised than when I woke up this morning to find the South Loop well ahead of Lincoln Park. I voted for the South Loop only because the Lincoln Park hospital NIMBY’s annoy me.
The Curbed techies should check for some ballot stuffing there.
As for Uptown whomping on River North I’d guess the mention on the Uptown Update blog accounts for that.
On a slightly more serious note I do think Uptown has had a relatively good year, goodbye Helen, but so has the greater Lincoln Square/Ravenswood area.
The voting should prove amusing.
FWIW I voted for River North 4 times. Only because I noticed you could continue to vote if you refreshed the page.
I imagine, anyone with enough time and determination could easily sway the decision for any round of voting.
Their whole system is broken.
Hey Joe, I appreciate your enthusiasm for the Curbed Cup, and I understand how tough it can be to cope with such heartbreaking defeat. I got the Curbed tech guys to run the cheating analyzer script on that Uptown-River North contest. Their findings? No ballot-stuffing (or at least no successful ballot-stuffing).
