We’re used to seeing parking spot giveaways, creative financing packages and free upgrades these days as the market “adjusts,” but today we came across two downtown developments that are offering the same sultry summer bargain – $10,000 discounts on brand new condos.
Lennar Urban is offering $10,000 off the price of condos at its Library Tower development, 518 S State St, on the edge of Printers Row in the South Loop. The Tower is under construction, and the builder expects first occupancy some time next summer. The 17-story high-rise will hold 184 loft-style condos, priced from the low $300s.
The homes have one to three bedrooms, one to two baths and 870 to 2,085 square feet. Finishes include granite counters, hardwood floors and ceramic tile in baths. Still no word on how many librarians have purchased here.
On the other side of the river, in the West Loop enclave known to some as the Fulton River District, RDM Development is offering a $10,000 discount on condos at its Trio development, a modern tower and two mid-rises at 650 W Wayman St. The three buildings (thus the name; clever, eh?) have a total of 209 condominiums.
Prices start in the mid-$200s, and the modern “European” features include granite kitchens, slate floors in bathrooms, hardwood floors in living areas and private terraces.
