Construction is wrapping up on the first phase of EcoNorth, which is located at 1820 – 1842 W Irving Park Rd in North Center. First move-ins should start within a month, according to Mary Jaeger of Baird & Warner. Jaeger says she hopes to open a model in the LEED Silver-certified building within the next two weeks.
As I mentioned in a recent post, the building that was demolished to make way for EcoNorth was mostly recycled, and the condo building features a green roof, water-efficient faucets, dual-flush toilets, and ENERGY STAR appliances.
So far, three of the 16 homes in Phase 1 have sold, and Jaeger says the first five buyers will get a year of free assessments, which she estimates will save them anywhere from $200 to $280 per month. The remaining two-bedroom condos are priced from the the $390s to the $450s.
