Decision on Lexington Park Condominiums to be made in early 2011

Lexington Park Condominiums will stay empty through the beginning of the new year, as owner ST Residential comes to a decision on whether to market the South Loop high-rise’ units as rentals or condominiums.

Peter Marino of ST Residential tells the Chicago Journal that his company is “still at the information gathering stage determining what the next steps are for this property,” and that a decision will be reached “by February or March.”

Another long-empty tower, 1555 Wabash, is now renting out units, the Journal reports. Developer New West Realty is in the process of turning the tower over to a new company. (Poor New West doesn’t even have a website right now — at the time I’m writing this, its URL has been suspended.)

Update: Nevertheless, New West listed 17 condos at 1555 last Friday, at prices ranging from the $220s for a 784 square-foot one-bedroom to the $320s for a 1,192 square-foot two-bedroom.
