Lovers of 20th-century design can feast their eyes this weekend at the Chicago Modernism Show and Sale at The American Institute of Architects, 1422 N Kingsbury St. More than 60 dealers, most of them local but others from far-flung locales like Paris and Mobile, Ala., will display decorative and fine-art works.
The show launches at 6 p.m. this Friday, April 13, with a preview gala benefitting The AIA Chicago Foundation and the International Interior Design Association. Tickets are $80 in advance and $110 at the door; call 312-376-2725 or visit www.aiachicago.org. If you’re superstitious – or you’d rather pay only $10 for admission – the show continues Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.
