YoChicago’s Joe Zekas continues his interview with developer Ben Myers, of Myers Realty and Affordable Home Developments LLC, who was working an open house at his condo conversion, The Greenview, 7650 – 7656 N Greenview Ave. Myers talks about the kind of quality you can expect in Rogers Park developments, including his own. His advice: “The best way to buy a house is to buy an unfinished house,” which allows home inspectors to get a good look at the building’s guts.

Some of the floor plans are terrible. I know developers love to take original one bedroom units and make them into two bedroom units ($$$), but in some of these units, the guy literally put a wall down the middle of the living room that terminates in the middle of the sunroom to create a second bedroom. Sure would have made a great one bedroom condo…
And some of the floor plans are good – at least the one unit I was in had a very functional floor plan.
