Here at Yo we have a particular interest in the 3100 block of Sheffield Avenue, for two reasons. It’s where our offices are located, and the street is an absolute madhouse of new-construction activity at the moment as we’ve said before, with a loft development and a couple of mid-rise projects underway. The influx of new homes has attracted a couple more retailers to the predominantly residential street. We like the look of The Fixx Coffee Bar, 3053 N Sheffield Ave, which is very laptop-friendly and seems to attract a lot of studenty-types.
For those who like their caffeine super-charged, the cafe offers the Smith and Wesson and the Kevorkian. We’re told that the Dr Death brew wins hands-down. Is it some kind of mercy killing for those with the Monday morning blues? It’s the perfect drink for those who are “as good as dead,” we’re told.
Maybe the Kevorkian will be the drink of choice for homebuyers when they see the mortgage payments on their $500,000 condos….
