Many Chicago apartments are never advertised on Craigslist or in any other online or print media, and those apartments are often some of the best deals available.
At YoChicago we advise renters to walk, bike or drive a neighborhood looking for FOR RENT signs.
Earlier today YoChicago’s Joe Askins and Joe Zekas drove through a stretch of the Bucktown neighborhood to see what we could find. We saw four FOR RENT signs in the first 10 minutes of our drive, and stopped for a closer look at each in the first part of our video.
In this second part of our brief drive we found another 5 properties with signage listing a total of 13 Bucktown properties.
In just over half an hour we found 17 Bucktown properties. I’d speculate that’s a lot more than we could have found if we’d spent the half hour on Craigslist wading through 1,000s of rental service bait-and-switch ads.
