I was over by Washington Square Park this morning, looking at the construction sites for the Elysian Hotel and Private Residences, Ten East Delaware and Walton on the Park. Of the three, the 60-story Elysian at 11 E Walton Pl in River North is the furthest along, and it looks like the building’s top is beginning to taper inwards, creating what will be a large mansard roof.
In addition to the tower, I also noticed that dark blue railings have been added to some of the balconies that face Walton Place (above, at right), and I took a look at the courtyard area located on Walton that is surrounded on two sides by four-story buildings (above, at left).
I called over to the sales center this morning to check if in fact the building is topped off, but the assistant I spoke with wasn’t sure. However, she did inform me that the hotel is set to open in late May or early June, and the residences will follow later. In September, Caryl Dillon told me that 57 of the 188 hotel condos were still available, and they are priced from the $600s to the $950s.
