Enterprise Companies aims to wrap construction at 1600 Museum Park by April

1600 Museum Park, 1621 S Prairie Ave, ChicagoThe Enterprise Companies has a long way to go to reach closeout at 1600 Museum Park, 1629 S Prairie Ave, but the developer has hit the homestretch at the tower in at least one sense. Its common amenities, like its rooftop deck, community room, and fitness center, should be ready for use by April 1, bringing an end to major construction work at the South Loop tower, says Ralph Oliva of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage.

Deliveries at the 30-story, 274-unit high-rise began in late December, and between 50 and 60 homes had closed as recently as Thursday. Enterprise and Coldwell Banker have staged two models and are holding open houses at the building on weekends, Oliva says.

Among the 129 units Olivia has listed on the MLS are one-bedroom / one baths with 900 to 916 square feet, priced from the $280s to the $420s, two-bedroom / two-baths with 1,218 to 1,395 square feet, priced from the $360s to the $630s, and three-bedroom / two-baths with 1,567 to 1,580 square feet, priced from the $630s to the $710s. Indoor parking still starts at an additional $35,000 per space, Oliva says.

No resales are surfacing in an MLS search, but one unit – a 916 square-foot one-bedroom on the 9th floor – is available to rent for $1,795 a month.

We’re sorely overdue for new photos from 1600 Museum Park, and the open houses sound like a good way to get inside and take a look around. I’ll give it a shot this weekend and report back with whatever I find.
