Farwell at the Lake touts lake views from all condos

Farwell at the Lake

When we think of beach homes, spots just off the sandy shores in Michigan and Indiana come to mind.

Farwell at the Lake in Rogers Park aims to join that club. The project is targeted at beach lovers and people looking for second homes, according to Michelle Browne at Rubloff Residential Properties, which is marketing the 16-unit conversion at 1125 W Farwell Ave.

All units have unobstructed lake views, Browne says. The side of the building faces Farwell Street, allowing the condos to face the lake, she adds.

“We think that’s why it’s such a unique building,” Browne says. “You can see the lakefront from anywhere, you have nothing in front of you and have direct access.”

A one-bedroom, one-bathroom garden unit costs $189,000. The rest of the units have two bedrooms and either one or two bathrooms, and range from $299,000 to $439,000. All units are still available, and first deliveries are expected in August, according to Browne.

The 1920s-era building has a red-brick exterior and a lobby entrance with terrazzo floors. Though the entire building was gutted, Browne says they wanted the new features to reflect some styles of the ’20s. These include three-inch white oak hardwood flooring, natural stone or porcelain floors in the bathrooms, and double-pane vinyl windows.

All of the condos have balconies, and the two-bedrooms range from 1,000 square feet to 1,400 square feet.
