Few bright spots in third-quarter downtown condo sales

Crain’s Chicago Real Estate Daily reports that Appraisal Research Counselors summary of downtown Chicago condo sales in the third quarter had few bright spots in it.

Crain’s spotlights Parkside of Old Town (video above) as one of them, and attributes its success to significant price cuts.

First-time buyers — who are able to buy without having to unload homes they currently own — likely helped sales at some other buildings that sold relatively well in the third quarter … including 200 N Dearborn, Silver Tower, 757 Orleans, 235 West Van Buren and Quincy 565.
