Fiserv: Lower prices on the horizon, but Chicago should weather storm

A new study from Fiserv predicts home values to drop in 342 out of 381 national markets during the next year, according to CNNMoney.com, but it looks like Chicago won’t suffer nearly as much as other areas.

Fiserv anticipates an 11.3-percent drop in the national median home price by mid-2010, followed by a 3.6-percent rise between July 2010 and June 2011.

In Chicago, prices could fall about 4 percent between now and the end of June, after which time they should begin to climb again, the article says.
