On March 6, 2007 we noted that two new South Loop condo towers had recently broken ground: Lexington Park and Burnham Pointe.

Two years later, Burnham Pointe began the process of converting to apartments, and it remains an apartment tower today.

A year ago we noted that Lexington Park finally opted to join the roster of failed condos gone rental. At the time, the first units were expected to begin renting last summer.

We’ve been receiving information that the rental program for Lexington Park, and a new name for the property, will be formally announced next week. Stay tuned.

  • Yo Chicago – when you provide an update next week – is there a way to find out if they have any retail already lined up?

  • I know this may not sound like much, but I was walking home last night and they just put up a very cool, lit-up “The Lex” on the INDIANA entrance side. I think it would go a long way to put the same sign on the S.Michigan side. Just walking by you can see how they are going to promote the building as a “fun” place to rent. I believe they have a roofdeck pool, and saw an arcade game in lobby area, but also it has a very grown-up contemporary look and feel inside.

  • Solo,

I’ll disclose one pic from the stash I’ve been sent – the view of the lobby that you’ve described so well. Click to enlarge.
