Last week Rubloff Residential Properties‘ Suzy Thomas confirmed that the project’s 22 condos were taken off the market last year. And today Stone told us that the new plan for the parcel involves four single-family luxury homes.
The new homes are being marketed by Nancy Tassone, of JDL Brokerage.
At this point, the new plan seems like a scaled-down version of JDL’s original intentions for the site, which called for a high-rise housing 22 individual luxury homes, one per floor.
With that concept out of the way, JDL is moving forward with the same type of home – albeit in a far smaller quantity – on the parcel.

I didn’t know about this one. It seems that another project nearby may have also been scrapped… Does anyone know what the deal is with the abandoned construction site on Melrose near Lakeshore Drive? There was a lot of concrete work done months ago, and now it’s just siting there deteriorating.
If this highrise was going to look like the one they did at 1035 N. Dearborn, I am glad they scrapped it!
Two sets of architects have worked on this building. First, Hartshorne-Plunkard then Epstein. Bet JDL lost some cash designing it so many times. It should taper at the top.
Good question about 431 W. Melrose. That’s the address that you’re referring too. The units are currently off the market. It took me 3 phone calls & 2 e-mails to get the Agent to respond…interesting in this market. I still did not get a straight answer.
